Ben Poirot is a member of the United States Army Field Band. Prior to his appointment, he served as Principal Tuba of the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. While based in Chicago, Ben maintained an active freelance career, performing with ensembles such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Grant Park Music Festival Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
Alongside his performance work, Ben has been involved in community outreach through the Civic Chamber Music Series and the Civic Mentorship Program, bringing music education and chamber music to diverse communities around the city.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Western Connecticut State University and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University.
