
Dr. Brendan Ige (any/all), a native of Pearl City, Hawaii, is Instructor of Tuba and Euphonium at Eastern Michigan University and Adrian University. They earned a Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University and their Master’s degrees (in Tuba Performance and Chamber Music) and DMA from University of Michigan in 2016. Their primary teachers include Fritz Kaenzig and David Saltzman. Brendan has performed with the Detroit Symphony, Detroit Opera Company, Toledo Symphony, Toledo Symphony Concert Band, Adrian Symphony, Akron Symphony, Perrysburg Symphony, The Royal Hawaiian Band, and the Cedar Point Beach Band.
Brendan has also performed guest recitals or taught masterclasses at Baldwin Wallace University, Kent State University, The University of Akron, Madonna University, Bowling Green State University, and Oakland University. In 2024, they cohosted the Midwest Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference and Bowling Green State University. In 2018 they were a featured euphonium artist for the Dublin Silver Brass Band. Brendan Ige performs on an Eastman 836 6/4 CC tuba and an S.E. Shires Custom Euphonium in medium shank.

The EBC836 is a 6/4 size tuba inspired by the legendary York orchestral CC tuba. This large tuba is at home on stage with a symphony orchestra or concert band, in the pit of an opera or ballet orchestra, and is nimble enough to play in small chamber ensembles.
