Matt TenBroek is a versatile Woodwind doubler originally based in Minnesota. He recently received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Matt began his undergrad seeking a general music degree but shifted gears and created what he called a “do-it-yourself” music business degree. The “do-it-yourself” degree consisted of ISC advertising, arts administration, and a minor in general music.
Matt combines his love and connection to a variety of music styles with an appreciation and understanding of modern marketing tools to reach a wider audience through social media. He has grown the brand of TenBroekjazz to a combined total of over 75,000 followers on numerous platforms. Aside from personal growth on social media, Matt has used his experience to support arts in his community and has served as the social media director for both the Clearwater Jazz and Art Festival, and JAM Duluth.
Matt originally discovered Eastman products around a year after he started playing saxophone, as a senior in high school. He saved up money, in combination with help from his Grandma and Mother, to purchase an ETS652. From this point forward, Matt was in love with Eastman products. Fast forward a few years later, and Matt is happy to say he is an endorsed Eastman Artist, and plays on all Eastman horns, including Alto, Tenor, Baritone, as well as Flute and Clarinet.
What They Play
ETS652
The 52nd Street saxophone is a professional instrument and comes unlacquered for a truly vintage appearance. It is an exceptionally responsive horn in all registers and produces a big, fat sound with precise intonation. A larger bell and rolled-style tone holes contribute to the sound qualities of this instrument that many compare to some of the great vintage horns of the past.
